Noble’s Pond MS Fundraiser Is “In the Bag”

Women’s event features designer handbag giveaway

For the sixth year, Noble’s Pond, the popular active adult community in Dover, Delaware, will host Girls’ Night Out to Fight MS. This year’s event, which raises funds for Multiple Sclerosis, will be held Saturday, September 22 at 6:30 pm at The Point, the Noble’s Pond clubhouse.

Participants, including Noble’s Pond residents and members of the Dover community, will pay $20 to play a game known as Pocketbook Bingo. The winner of each of nine games of bingo wins a designer handbag. Between rounds a DJ will entertain. There will also be snacks, cocktails, a silent auction and raffles, with pocketbooks, prizes, and food donated by generous sponsors.

Girls’ Night Out for MS is a tribute to Noble’s Pond Lifestyle Director Colleen Ostafy, whose daughter was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 26 and is doing well. Colleen first suggested hosting a fundraiser in 2012 and residents and employees ran with it. “Each year they’ve made it bigger, better and more successful,” adds Colleen. Nationally, about three-quarters of those diagnosed with MS are female, so a women’s event is the perfect way to show support.

Funds raised at Noble’s Pond, more than $92,000 in the past five years, go toward research, medication and wheelchairs/scooters for those whose mobility is compromised by MS.

Noble’s Pond homeowners reach out to the larger community in a variety of ways throughout the year. At Christmastime, they hold an annual Toys for Tots drive and visit residents of a Dover nursing home, bearing gifts and singing carols. They also cook for residents of a local shelter and participate in an annual MS walk.

With its classic Americana streetscape and location minutes from downtown Dover, award-winning Noble’s Pond has become one of the most sought-after communities of its type. Residents live in low-maintenance, single-family homes. All-new floor plans deliver gorgeous kitchens, deluxe master suites, easy-living features and plenty of room for overnights with the grandchildren. The favorable Delaware tax climate makes the community a draw for people from across the country.

The Noble’s Pond lifestyle is second to none, with “More fun per square inch than anyplace you’ve ever lived.” Learn more about Girls’ Night Out for MS and Noble’s Pond. Call or click.
