Noble’s Pond Gardeners Are Happy Campers

The Growing Season Is Finally Here!

It’s said that music soothes the savage beast. But for gardeners, playing in the dirt comes in a mighty close second! Just ask members of the Lady Bugs, the Noble’s Pond garden club. The group, made up of avid growers and enthusiastic beginners, kicked off the season by planting the perimeter of the community vegetable garden with colorful flowers.

Sited on 300 acres of pristine farmland, Noble’s Pond is Delaware’s premier active adult community. Residents have their choice of garden plots in three sizes—3×6, 6×6, or for the die-hard growers, a 6×12 rectangle of endless possibilities.

Each site gets its own sign, which residents decorate and embellish as they wish! Some feature grower nicknames. Noble’s Pond resident Tony Durante, the unofficial mayor of the community garden, is known as “Tony Tomato” for his ability to coax the reddest, juiciest tomatoes out of the ground. Passionate about planting, Tony is always happy to lend a hand to keep plots watered and weeded.
