Noble’s Pond Lifestyle Director Colleen Ostafy Turns Every Day into a Celebration
“Life is short. Take the trip. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Live life!”
That’s what drives Colleen Ostafy, and that’s the attitude she shares every day with the residents of Noble’s Pond, the active living community in Dover, Delaware.
Colleen has been the Lifestyle Director at Noble’s Pond since 2008, before the first homes in Delaware’s premier 55+ community were even completed. She left a 20-year career as a bookkeeper behind and found her passion.
“Never in a million years did I think that I could have a job like this and enjoy it so much, and have so much fun with the residents,” says Colleen.
Under her direction, Noble’s Pond’s residents enjoy an amazing array of activities, like onsite dinner theater, winery and museum tours, pickleball, gardening, clubs and year-round celebrations. Colleen also plans popular trips to places like Savannah, Las Vegas, New York, Alaska, and most recently, a European riverboat cruise including The Netherlands during tulip time.
Embrace and Engage
“At Noble’s Pond you are embraced by a warm and welcoming community, and our clubhouse, The Point, is the social hub where you can join your new neighbors for a fun game of cards, aerobics, dancing or a holiday party.
“We are here to help you create the lifestyle of your dreams. You can do as much or as little as you like, but before you know it, your social calendar will be the envy of all your friends who did not yet move to Noble’s Pond. There’s always something happening here,” says Colleen.
Colleen is a dynamo. She regularly volunteers at the MS Walks with the Delaware Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She has even created a special annual fundraiser for her favorite charity at Noble’s Pond: “Girls Night Out to Fight MS – Pocketbook Bingo.” In the last five years, this event has raised more than $65,000!
In her spare time, she loves spending time with her grown daughter and her family, including her grandson Oliver. Line dancing is just one more way she expresses her joy for life.
“I try to always be upbeat, you never know what’s going to happen tomorrow, so smile and be happy today!”
