The Delaware Chapter of the MS Society has awarded Noble’s Pond the 2013 Corporation of the Year for Girls Night Out to Fight to MS. The awards presentation was held December 4, 2013 at the Embassy Suites in Newark, Delaware. Proudly representing Noble’s Pond was Mary Field, Vice President, Colleen Ostafy, Lifestyle Director, Dorothy Carey, Sales and Lindsey Ostafy, Volunteer.
Linda Risk, Development Director for the Delaware Chapter of the MS Society, presented the award and praised Girls Night Out to Fight MS for its impact on the community, the efforts of our volunteers and the variety of sponsors that participate. This year’s Girls Night Out to Fight MS was Noble’s Pond’s second year hosting the event and plans for 2014 are already underway.
Dr. Jason Silverstein, a prominent Wilmington Neurologist, gave an update on new research and efforts that are underway to find a cure for this disease. The funds raised at events like Girls Night Out to Fight MS help with this research. Rain Pryor, daughter of the late Richard Pryor, was the evening’s keynote speaker. She was compelling as she told her personal story of the impact her father’s battle with MS had on her and her family. She is as committed as we are and stated that she will continue to work with the MS Society to bring awareness and help raise funds until a cure is found. Girls Night Out to Fight MS was also the highest grossing private fundraiser for MS for Delaware in 2013, raising over $15,500. Mark your calendars for the 2014 Girls Night Out to Fight MS – September 20, 2014!
